The market-based economy of Bangladesh is the 32nd largest in the world by purchasing power parity. Bangladesh has signed bilateral investment treaties with nations such as the USA, UK, Germany, Korea and France.

With two seaports entailing modern facilities and internal transport and communication systems, the country is witnessing increasing facilitation of export and import trades. An Act of Parliament provides legal protection to all foreign investments in Bangladesh. This act promulgated in 1980 in the backdrop of nationalization and expropriation. Non-commercial risks of an investment, also, get covered and protected by the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), encouraging investors in a widely recognized fashion, to contribute to the growth and development of this rapidly emerging economic hub.
